Here are some fun backgrounds you can use as Wallpaper images on your iPad, or as Virtual Backgrounds in Zoom meetings, or both!

Step 1. Download

On an iPad, press and hold on an image you want to download. Then choose Save Image in the menu that appears. This will save it to your Photo Library. Instructions on how to use these as Wallpaper or Zoom Virtual Backgrounds are at the bottom of this page.

Use as Wallpaper

On your iPad, go to Settings and select Wallpaper on the left. Tap Choose a New Wallpaper at the top right. Tap on All Photos, and the ones you just downloaded should be at the bottom of the list.

Use as a Virtual Background in Zoom on an iPad

When you join a Zoom Meeting with your teacher, you can set one of these images as your Virtual Background! Save the image to your Photo Library first (as described above).

When you join a Zoom Meeting, tap anywhere on the screen to display the control bar across the top of the screen. Now tap the three dots at the upper right corner to display a menu of options. Select Virtual Background to display some backgrounds across the bottom of the screen that are included with Zoom.

Tap the Plus Sign, then tap OK to give Zoom permission to view your photos. Now select the image you want to use as your virtual background, and tap Done.

Use as a Virtual Background in Zoom on a Mac

Good News! Zoom now supports virtual backgrounds on the MacBook Air computers our teachers use. It works best if you have a bright, solid color background, and on a Mac, zoom mirrors the image to provide a more pleasing effect.

That means, though, that you will see a reversed version of the image on your screen, but the students will see the correct version.

Download the desired image
Choose Virtual Background from the Video menu at the bottom left of the Zoom window.
Click the Plus Sign to locate and add your image.
