Jamf Parent App

Jamf Parent is an app you can use to manage your child’s school-issued device. Using Jamf Parent, you can manage your child’s school-issued device with the following features:

Allow and restrict apps to choose which apps your child can use

Enable App Lock to set a timer for app restrictions

Create a Device Rule to schedule app restrictions

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to add your child’s device to Jamf Parent by by scanning a QR code on your child’s device.

GETTING STARTED

1. Download Jamf Parent from your App Store.

2. Open the Jamf Parent app on your device

3. Tap Get Started.

4. Tap Scan QR Code and scan the QR code on your child’s device. Your student will need to open the Jamf Student app, tap their name near the silhouette icon in the bottom left corner to reveal the QR Code. If this is the first time you are using Jamf Parent, you must allow Jamf Parent to access the camera to scan QR codes and allow Jamf Parent access to iBeacons for the QR code to display on your child’s device.

5. When prompted, tap Confirm

6. Repeat steps 2 through 8 to add more children’s devices.

Note: If two or more adults want to manage the same child’s device with Jamf Parent, you must close and reopen the QR code on your child’s device before scanning the QR code on another adult’s device.
